Keeping everyone safe

Please see below some changes we’re putting in place, which we ask customers to adhere to and understand, ensuring a safe visit for all.

Social distancing
We ask all customers to practice safe social distancing and to please be courteous to others in tight spaces around the pub.

On arrival please enter via the red glass door to the left-hand side of the pub nearest the Milton rooms. Please wait inside the door to be greeted and taken to your table, we will ask you to sanitise your hands on arrival. Although tempting please do not approach the bar, we will be operating table service only for the time being.

We are encouraging bookings, even for a drink at the moment – we ask everyone to be on time for their booking.
For those without a prior reservation you are of course welcome but may be asked to wait during busy times, and as much as we’ll try our best to get everyone a table, it may not always be possible, in order to keep everyone safe.

Cleaning
Staff will be washing their hands a minimum of every twenty minutes and ‘touch points’ will be sanitised every half hour. Tables and chairs will be cleaned after every use and regular cleaning of the toilets will take place. We will be following the highest of cleaning standards throughout the pub and in the kitchen, as always.

Serving your table
We will do our best to keep a safe distance when taking your order and serving tables. Cutlery and napkins will be placed on your table once you have ordered.

Menus
Menus and wine lists will only be used once and recycled after.

Children and dogs
Please don’t allow your children to wander through the pub, they need to remain seated at the table throughout your visit, any electronic devices must be used with headphones and they must be accompanied by an adult to the toilet.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and kept close to your table.

Outside tables and chairs
Unfortunately, we don’t take bookings for our outside tables and chairs, they are on a first come first served basis. Please don’t move them around – they have been thoughtfully positioned.
Please wait and a member of staff will come to you.

Government ‘Test and Trace’
When making a booking we will ask for your contact details, these will be used for ‘test and trace’ if required and destroyed 21 days after your visit. When visiting without a booking we will ask you for contact details on arrival.

Staff Health checks
Staff will undertake health checks on arrival, front of house staff will be wearing head visors and kitchen staff will be wearing masks during their shifts.
We ask if you feel unwell please leave your visit for another day.

In the short term we will be asking for deposits on tables of 4 people and over.
